    • Explore future regulation and marketing in Asia such as Asian Fund Passport / QFII. How will China’s new investment policies change the environment?
    • Look at trends such as the Open Protocol that are becoming increasingly popular for attracting institutional investors
    • Discuss how regulation is changing marketing practises for European and US investors.

Local markets regulation/challenges: access to the China markets; dealing with regulations in HK, Singapore, Japan around disclosure and shorting; complexity of conventions across other markets such as Korea, Taiwan, Australia, India etc.

    • Increased demands on your ops team: providing additional reporting for investors and regulators –open-protocol exposure & risk reporting, Form PF, AIFMD Annex IV. Having to deal with ‘custodians’and manage settlement rather than PBs etc. Is outsourcing an option that is helpful?
    • How hard is it to change internal process of investment teams to fit with regulation and compliance? –as more and more areas require ‘pre-trade’checks and scrutiny on risks being quantified, how does an HF ops team approach the challenge of changing internal workflows.
    • Where will the next challenge come from? –will it be from the investors, the fund regulators, the market regulators, or from the investment universe as new products / markets are opened up for investment
